Overview

At Ulster Camogie, we are committed to empowering young people and ensuring their voices are heard at every level of our sport. We are excited to launch the Ulster Camogie Youth Voice Council, offering young camogs the chance to shape the future of camogie in their communities.

This is an opportunity for young people to lead, influence, and help develop inclusive and engaging programmes that reflect the needs and aspirations of their peers.

Purpose of the Role

We are looking for young leaders aged 14–18 who are passionate about camogie and community. The Youth Voice Council will play a key role in shaping Ulster Camogie’s programmes, events, and youth strategies by providing insight, feedback, and innovative ideas.

Council members will have the opportunity to lead, develop important life skills, and represent their peers across the province.

 

Key Objectives

  • Provide insight and perspective from young people across Ulster
  • Bring fresh ideas to improve camogie experiences, programmes, and promotion
  • Be actively engaged in decision-making and youth consultations
  • Help shape youth strategies and influence future funding opportunities
  • Develop leadership, confidence, and communication skills
  • Evaluate programmes to ensure they are youth-friendly and inclusive

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend Youth Voice Council meetings (mostly online, some in person)
  • Represent the views of young people from your county and club
  • Share feedback on Ulster Camogie programmes, events, and facilities
  • Act as a positive ambassador for camogie and the Youth Council
  • Help identify the needs of young players and supporters
  • Engage in workshops and training to develop leadership and project skills
  • Support key Ulster Camogie events and campaigns
  • Contribute to the development of a Youth Strategy
  • Support the growth of camogie and Ulster Camogie’s strategic objectives

Who Can Apply?

You must:

  • Be aged between 14–18 (U16 or Minor)
  • Be currently living in Ulster
  • Be passionate about the development of camogie and your community
  • Be able to attend online and in-person meetings where possible
  • Personal Qualities We’re Looking For
    A strong desire to grow as a leader
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • An interest in shaping camogie programmes and opportunities
  • Positivity and energy
